Learn About Me

img_3826

Hey there!  Welcome to my blog. In life, I wear a few different hats:  A husband to Meagan, father to Caleb, son, brother, youth pastor, and cancer survivor.  Each one of those has influenced me in big ways – and have shaped me into who I am today.  You’ll see that throughout my posts, I have no doubt.

WHY I BLOG

I blog not only to process my own thoughts and ideas, but to offer hope and courage to the reader. I’m a Christian – and that has major influence on how I think, speak and act.  I’ll often write about what God is teaching me about following him, and what you and I can do to love Him + love each other more effectively.  Spiritual growth and habits will drive a lot of posts.

Feel free to connect with me on Facebook or Instagram; and be sure to subscribe to this blog to stay up-to-date on new posts.

WHAT I DO

I’m a youth pastor. I currently work at Willow Creek Community Church – in their Junior High Department.  I am a part of a fantastic team of co-workers that work hard each week to inspire Jr High students to allow Jesus to lead and guide their lives.

Speaking to teenagers is among the top energizers of my job. I love being able to explore Gods word with them, and offer them simple handles of truth to hang on to as they navigate their worlds.

MY FAMILY

My wife, Meagan, and I got married on August 8, 2014.  She is funny, brilliant, quick-witted, sarcastic, beautiful…and so much more. I truly enjoy hanging out with her, and if the last 4.5 years have been a glimpse of our future, then I’m going to be one happy guy.  In 2018 we welcomed our first child, Caleb Michael.  He’s brought immense joy into our lives, and we couldn’t be happier about God’s gift to us through him.

I was born and raised in Michigan – and I still have strong ties to Michigan teams (Go Blue!).  My immediate family still lives in the mitten – My parents, older brother, and younger sister.  No family is perfect…but I couldn’t have asked for a better one.

  1. Hey Adam,

This is too cool. I love seeing everything you are involved in. I get to see pictures of all of your family. Do you have any of your messages available on the internet? I would love to see or hear them.

Obviously, God is blessing you richly.

Some of our best memories are with your mom and dad with the three of you running around the house.

    Love,
    Julie

    +1

  3. Hey, I found your blog by seeing a link to similar blogs on my friends! It’s GREAT to see other followers of our loving Lord making blogs!! It’s so edifying to think of all the believers around the worlds and how God is working in all of their lives. That one day, all though all do not know each other, we shall all together be FOREVER worshiping God!!!
But anyway, I thought I’d leave a comment with my blog link where you can also find links to some of my friend’s blogs!
Thank you for the encouraging blog and I hope you’re encouraged by ours,
    Your unknown sister,
    Taylor

  4. Adam, pray you and your bride are in good health and spirits. Just a heads up on your last post for your upcoming race for clean water …someone left out the colon after https where you have stated “join me”. Without that no one can connect to the site …just saying!
