healer [revisited]

ever since i downloaded hillsong’s “this is our god” album, i have been thinking about the song ‘healer.’  as many of you know, it was a huge hit.  many of you also know that the author, michael guglielmucci, faked his ordeal with cancer in order to cover up an addiction to porn. he came clean and is now (to the best of my knowledge) allowing God to restore and heal him.  the whole thing is a bit ironic if you ask me.

maybe it’s ’cause i identify so closely with this song, maybe it’s because i identify all too closely with michael’s struggles…but something in me would love to see this song put on set lists in churches all over the america.

we all fail.  but as brad powell says, our failure doesn’t have to be final.

  1. I agree with you completely. This song opened me up to Gods healing in a way I had been searching for years. And to hear about his struggle…well I can’t even begin to say how closely I relate to him. God still uses imperfect vessels.
